Bleriot Biotech is the research and development arm of Bleriot, dedicated to advancing sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) technology. Our focus is on the innovation and engineering of bio-based feedstocks that serve as the foundation for SAF production. By utilizing cutting-edge biotechnology and scientific research, Bleriot Biotech is creating renewable, scalable fuel solutions that help reduce the aviation industry’s reliance on fossil fuels. Through continuous R&D, we aim to push the boundaries of SAF technology, ensuring that the aviation sector can meet its sustainability goals while maintaining operational efficiency.
Bleriot Biotech is currently supporting advances in research, development, and demonstration to overcome barriers for widespread deployment of low-carbon sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). SAF made from renewable biomass and waste resources have the potential to deliver the performance of petroleum-based jet fuel but with a fraction of its carbon footprint, giving airlines solid footing for decoupling greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from flight.
Bleriot Biotech is working with other research entities across the globe together with Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) and other government agencies to develop a comprehensive strategy for scaling up new technologies to produce SAF on a commercial scale in Africa
